With more rain in the forecast through Sunday, this is not what Truman Lake needs right now! The Dam crossing is closed as water surges to a new record high!

Truman Lake was built for flood control. It flows into the Lake of the Ozarks, which is privately owned and therefore heavily developed along the shoreline and has little margin for flooding.

Lake of the Ozarks releases into the Osage River, which feeds into the Missouri River east of Jeff City!

Osage River is also closed to recreational boaters from the Bagnell Dam in Lake of the Ozarks to the Missouri River!

What does this mean for the Lake of the Ozarks?

The full pool at Lake of the Ozarks is 660 feet of elevation, and the Lake of the Ozarks’ water level was at 659 ft. on Tuesday!

The only area that will be affected by the flooding currently is below Bagnell Dam!
